What is your favourite game? Is it a game of chance, pure skill, or a combination of both? Describe how to play this game. Why do you like it? What strategies do you use?

“My favourite game is Pente. I like it because it is easy to play (not many rules) but requires skill to play well. Each player takes turns to place one of their stones on the board. If you place a stone either end of two of your opponents stones then you capture them. The winner is who gets five stones in a row or captures 10 stones. One strategy I use is to get 3 stones in a row to force my opponent to defend instead of attacking”. [MrT]
